AGT Can Help You Achieve LEED® Building Credits for New Construction and Major Renovations.
When buildings are designed and constructed with environmental impact in mind, the benefits extend to the building owner, its occupants, and the community.
LEED certified buildings are easier to lease or sell, easier to heat and cool, and ultimately easier on the environment. Simply put, LEED certification is good for business.
Put AGT's long standing commitment to environmental design and manufacturing to work for you. Our in-house design and engineering team can guide you through this important and growing building trend. We'll help you select the optimal mix of materials, products and practices to achieve the highest credits possible. We will also provide the full materials documentation that you require for certification.
The following summary provides an overview of the LEED categories in which we can help you achieve credits. You can also learn more about the LEED initiative at: www.leedbuilding.org.
Leed Category
Energy and Atmosphere Credit 1: Optimize Energy Performance
Leed Credits Available
1-10 Points
AGT Technology Strategy
Skylight and curtain wall performance can be greatly enhanced through
the right combination of glass construction, tints, and coatings such
as low-e. AGT's Total Lifecycle Design process
is a collaborative approach that will help you to meet ongoing energy
efficiency requirements in addition to aesthetic requirements.
Leed Category
Materials and Resources Credits 4.1 and 4.2: 10%-20% Recycled
Content
Leed Credits Available
1 Point per Credit Category
AGT Technology Strategies
Glass: We insist on working with manufacturers
who provide glass consisting of 20-25% recycled content, to give
you a product that can actually exceed LEED Recycled Content
requirements.
Our glass manufacturers also provide PVB innerlayers (on laminated glass applications) that contain 30-40% recycled content.
Aluminum: Our aluminum used in painted applications contains 80% recycled content.
AGT contributes further to the entire recycling stream by reclaiming 100% of the aluminum waste (including shavings) generated in our manufacturing process. We also compact all wood and paper used in production.
Leed Category
Materials and Resources Credits 5.1 and 5.2: Regional Materials:
10%-20% Processed & Manufactured Regionally
Leed Credits Available
1-2 Points
AGT Technology Strategy
LEED regional materials credits are available based on the proximity
of the customer to AGT. Qualification is achieved when the product
manufacturer is within 500 miles of the jobsite.
Leed Category
Indoor Environmental Quality Credit 4.1: Low-Emitting Materials: Adhesives & Sealants
Leed Credits Available
1 Point
AGT Technology Strategy
The adhesives and sealants used in glass structures are critical
to structural and environmental performance. We source only
products that are significantly below the V.O.C. requirements outlined
in LEED requirements.
Leed Category
Indoor Environmental Quality Credits 8.1 and 8.2: Daylight & Views: Daylight
75%-90% of Spaces
Leed Credits Available
1 Point per Credit Category
AGT Technology Strategy
Our in-house design and engineering teams can help you to create
spaces that take maximum advantage of daylighting opportunities to
decrease requirements for artificial lighting, while helping to manage
heating and cooling costs.
Leed Category
Energy & Atmosphere Credit 2: On-Site Renewable Energy
Leed Credits Available
1-3 Points
AGT Technology Strategy
Working with a third party vendor, AGT has designed skylight framing
systems that incorporate the use of photovoltaic cells as a replacement
for units of glass.
